William Chang, violin

A junior at St. Mark’s School of Texas, William has played the violin for nine years, studying under Mr. Motoi Takeda, the assistant concert master of Dallas Symphony Orchestra. William has been a member of the TPSMEA All-State Orchestra for four years and was the concertmaster in 2012. He was also a member of the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra for several years. William has also won several awards at the Collin County Young Artist Competition and the Dallas Symphonic Festival. In his spare time, William enjoys a variety of sports including football, basketball, swimming, table tennis, and frisbee, among other activities such as building computers, reading, and listening to music.

Hansen Kuo, viola

Hansen Kuo,17, is a junior at the St. Mark’s School of Texas. He started playing violin when he was 4 and recently switched to viola. He has been a member of the TPSMEA All-State Orchestra for three years and an active member of the GDYO since the 6th grade. Hansen enjoys volleyball, basketball, football, frisbee, and track. His hobbies are listening to music, talking to friends, playing video games, and playing sports.

Patrick Ng, cello

A senior at St. Mark’s School of Texas, Patrick Ng has played the cello for nine years, studying with Mr. Michael Coren of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra for six years. A four-year member of TPSMEA All State Orchestra and three-year member of The Institute for Strings, Patrick is currently learning Haydn Cello Concerto in D Major, which he will perform at the end of the year with his school orchestra. In college, Patrick intends to study biology and English, ultimately pursuing medicine, and to join university orchestras and chamber music ensembles.
